I am pleased to announce that the Village Breakfasts will be starting up again from September onwards. The breakfasts will be served on the first Saturday of each month, in this case the 7th September, from 8.30 until 11.30. We will be serving a traditional breakfast, small or large, and can cater for a vegetarian or a gluten free option. Breakfasts are served with the option of orange juice, toast and tea or coffee, cooked and served by willing volunteers!
On the subject of volunteers: if you would like to give us a helping hand on the occasional Saturday then please let us know. The aim is to have enough people to ensure that there is plenty of flexibility and helpers do not have to commit to every month. If you can offer to help out now and again then just let one of the following know: Cath Caesar, Pella Williams-Duff or Sally Kyte.
The primary aim of the breakfasts is to provide a sociable place to meet and chat on a Saturday morning but we also hope to raise some funds for the village. The plan is to raise funds for the Village Hall and Playing Field Committee and we suggest that if you have ideas on how those funds might be spent to let us know on a Saturday morning or let the committee know directly. It may be that you would like to see a barbeque area on the playing fields, new marquees for use at events such as the Summer fete, or you might like an annual street party! Put your thinking caps on and let us know.
We look forward to seeing you on 7th September in the Village Hall from 8.30am onwards.
