The Tesco Bags of Help grant scheme is funded by the 10p government carrier bag levy and runs across England, Wales and Scotland.
Bags of Help will see the money raised opened up to a greater range of projects that support community projects. Some examples could include: volunteer training, physical improvements of open spaces, equipment purchases, improvements to a community building, and running a community event or seasonal activity etc. The grant is permanently open and groups can apply at any time as there is no cut off period.
Following a public vote, three projects in each of the Tesco regions will receive a grant every two months, with first place receiving up to £4k, second place up to £2k and third place up to £1k.

We have been contacted by Rebecca Herringshaw who is one of two Community Enablers from Groundwork South working in partnership with Tesco on the funding programme in the South West region and Rebecca has informed us that there are currently no grant applications in for the Amesbury region for the May/June voting round, so any eligible groups who do apply may stand a good chance of going through to an in-store public vote for this period.
