31 March 2009 marked the end of an era.  The County Council of Wiltshire acquired Unitary Council status, and Salisbury District Council took its place in the history books.  This change in Local Government meant the loss of many local politicians, good and true.  To us, here in Tilshead, we lost the expertise and advice of Colin Mills, who had been our District Councillor for 14 years.

At its Annual Meeting in February 2009, the Tilshead Parish Council presented Colin with a small gift in appreciation of his long and unstinted service to the Parishioners of Tilshead.
