Speed Analysis of traffic on A360 (Tilshead restricted Area)
At the September 2008 Parish Council meeting, the Chairman reported the results of a meeting held with WPC Amanda Warren, Police Analyst Kevin Bolan and the Chairmen of Shrewton and Orcheston Parishes about traffic speeds through the three villages.
WPC Warren was asked to arrange for a speed analysis of traffic on the A360 through the Village. The analysis took place during October 2007. The results showed that the average speed of those exceeding the limit was 33.46 mph. The average speed of all vehicles was 30.7 mph. The 85th percentile was 34.4 mph (the speed at or below which 85% of traffic travelled).
Police Analyst Kevin Bolan has kindly provided a brief on the criteria rules relating to speed limits and speed cameras; and a flow chart showing how complaints of speeding traffic are processed. Both provide a great insight on how these matters are handled.
